Jake and Steph – Rotary Gardens/Best Events Janesville, WI Wedding Photography

  Jake and Steph were married on Saturday at Rotary Gardens in Janesville, WI. They had their reception at Kandu/Best Events. To say their wedding was beautiful would be a serious understatement. It was just awesome!

  They put so much work and love into their whole day. From their lighthearted and rustic ceremony program (which coordinated perfectly with their wedding invitations!) to their seating chart board made of wood, twine, and clothes pins.   If they were going for an intimate feeling where everything just felt comfortable and easy, they accomplished that! It was seriously just amazing. Steph put so much of herself into the things she made. She learned how and made all the bridal party hangers with their names in wire! WOW!   She decorated flip-flops for the girls with wrapped ribbon and “I Do” bling on the bottom of hers. Who cares if the shoes read…”Do I”…just cross your feet and you’re good to go! You’re awesome Steph! :-)

The ceremony was so sweet and heartfelt. Steph looked beautiful walking down the aisle with her Dad. I loved the way she smiled at Jake as she made her way to him. :-)

  They did a ceremonial tree-planting with dirt from both of their childhood homes. That was so cool! I love meaningful things like that..things that will last. The tree will grow with them – how cool is that??   They wrote their own vows, which were so touching to hear. They spoke about how they have grown together and accepted each other for who they are. They vowed to be by each other’s side through everything with love, respect, and support. Very sweet.     After the ceremony, it was a whirlwind of activity (as it usually is!). I suggested….highly suggested…that they please take 10 or more minutes to go off by themselves and just be together. It helps to ground them and to slow down and enjoy the feeling of just marrying the love of your life. I stood at a distance and captured them just being them.   After leaving Rotary Gardens, we made a stop at their house to see their baby girl – Brynn. She wanted to have a paw in the affair, as well! :-)   Afterwards, they were off to the Watering Hole in Janesville, WI. They had a blast just letting loose and taking a big….big breath…pheww… time to let your hair down!     The reception was amazing!   They even took ballroom dance lessons!!! They rocked it for sure!!   And who can resist the fun of a photo booth??!?   Took Jake a while to get it but he did!   Everyone had fun, danced, ate cake (by the end, it looked like people had been walking by just taking fistfuls.. HAHAHA – it was demolished!) Cascading Red Velvet.   They had some homemade Apple liquor moonshine they were passing around..so maybe that’s what happened to the cake..who knows! Either way – it was a great time! I want to give a big thank you to my assistant, Amanda Underhill. She was a huge help. I appreciate your time so much!   And of course….a HUGE…and I mean huge thank you to Jake and Steph for choosing me to be a part of your day. It was a very humbling experience to be there to witness and record your entire day. I thank you for the trust you put in me to get the job done right and also just for being such awesome people! Jake, I know you hate “posing” for pictures…but you did great..especially after a couple drinks! :-) Steph, you are a total sweetheart and you looked seriously gorgeous. I love how you did so much DIY stuff…that’s so me! I can totally appreciate the time and effort that went into all of that. Congratulations you guys! You deserve all the love and happiness in the world! Enjoy these other highlights from their celebration!
